Would you date someone who was ranked #957?

Would you bet on a horse that was ranked #957?

Would you hire the 957th candidate?

No, no, no, because we all want a sure thing. You may root for the underdog occasionally but do you ever chose the underdog?

I know for a fact when it comes giving people opportunities most of us only want the person with the highest statistical rating and highest assessment score (and nowadays the biggest social following). Companies pass over good people, who are qualified, educated, and experienced all the time. The will overlook someone who is an 85% match hoping to find a 90% to 95% match.

In most cases, the underdog has no chance…unless they control their own narrative (and a bit of luck)

Sloan Stevens was ranked 957th in world of women’s tennis and she rose to win the U.S. Open.
